Regular Season Round 1: VEF Riga - PAOK 80-74

VEF Riga celebrated the initial win at the EuroCup regular season. They held off PAOK in Latvia to open their win count in Group B. Courtney Sims knocked down 19 points and grabbed 11 rebounds to lead the winners. The teams stayed neck and neck throughout the first half. The first frame finished with the teams tied at 23. VEF Riga eked out a narrow 45:44 lead at the interval. Curtis Millage and Dairis Bertans helped the hosts take a 61:53 lead in the third term. PAOK would not go away as they narrowed the deficit to 3 points early in the final frame. But Janicenoks, Curtis Millage and Courtney Sims gave some breathing space for VEF Riga and the hosts eventually got away with the win. Curtis Millage finished with 18 points, while Dairis Bertans added 14 points for the home team. J.R. Giddens answered with 17 points for PAOK. Marcus Goree had 16 points in the loss.
