Regular Season Round 2: Khimky - VEF Riga 90-70

Khimky earned the second straight win at the start of EuroCup regular season. They trounced visiting VEF Riga. Vitaly Fridzon and Kresimir Loncar scored 11 points each to pace the winners. Khimky knocked down 26 points in the opening frame to take a 6-point lead. VEF Riga however matched the tempo in the second term. The teams stayed close trading the baskets. Khimky ensured a 7-point halftime advantage 51:44. Khimky cleared off in the third quarter. They limited VEF Riga to just 12 points in it and entered the final frame up by as many as 16 points 72:56. BC Khimky never looked back afterwards cruising to the victory. Sergey Monya and Zoran Planinic chipped in 10 points each for the hosts. Courtney Sims responded with 18 points for VEF Riga. Kristaps Janicenoks had 15 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the loss.
