Gran Canaria registered the second win in a row at the start of EuroCup season. The Spanish team surprised Skyliners in Frankfurt in Group E. Spencer Nelson nailed 14 points to pace the winners. The hosts fell at 0-2 record after the loss. Gran Canaria felt at home in the opening frame. They grabbed a 17:11 lead ten minutes into the game. But Skyliners picked up the tempo in the second quarter. The hosts erased the distance and eventually eked out a 33:32 halftime lead. But the third term turned things upside down for the home team. Gran Canaria took over completely after the big break. They established a comfortable 54:43 advantage with ten minutes to go in the game. Gran Canaria held the home team to 15 points in the final term and ensured a confident win at the end. Taurean Green nailed 13 points, while Marquez Haynes added 11 points in the winning case. Jon Leuer responded with 20 points and 8 rebounds for Skyliners. Jimmy McKinney had 15 points in the losing case.
