Regular Season Round 3: VEF Riga - Cholet 69-53

VEF Riga overcame Cholet in Latvian capital tonight to record the second EuroCup win in the season. Courtney Sims stepped up with 14 points and 9 rebounds to lead well-balanced effort from the hosts. Cholet on the other hand suffered the third loss in a row at the tournament. VEF Riga surged ahead early in the game posting a 24:18 lead after ten minutes. Cholet however struck right back in the second term. The French team held their opponents to 8 points in the period erasing the deficit. Cholet established a 36:32 halftime advantage. VEF Riga reacted with a stifling defence and agressive offence in the third term. The Latvian side went on a 22:10 run to ensure a comfortable 8-point lead with ten minutes remaining. Cholet scored just 7 points in the fourth term losing the battle. Antanas Kavaliauskas provided 13 points, while Tyler Cain added 12 in the win. Fabien Causeur responded with 15 points for Cholet. Randal Falker had 12 points and 13 rebounds in the losing case.
