Banvit remained in the race for EuroCup Last 16 qualification. The Turkish team overcame Skyliners in Frankfurt tonight to catch up with Gran Canaria at 3-2 record in the second position in Group E. Clifford Hammonds nailed 15 points to lead Banvit. Skyliners in the meantime suffered the fifth straight defeat at the tournament. Banvit opened the game aggressively taking a 19:8 lead ten minutes into the game. But Skyliners stopped the rot in the second frame. The hosts picked up the slack and trimmed the deficit at 7-point mark at the interval 25:32. The German team mounted the pressure in the third quarter. Skyliners got within just two points from Banvit with ten minutes remaining 44:46. But Banvit stiffened their defence in the final quarter. The visitors limited Skyliners to only 12 points in the fourth period and celebrated a vital win at the end. Charles Davis delivered 14 points, while Kenan Bajramovic provided 11 points in the victory. Jimmy McKinney replied with 14 points for Skyliners. Michael Thompson chipped in 9 points in the loss.
