Lokomotiv Kuban registered the first win in EuroCup Last 16 round. They overcame previously unbeaten Lietuvos Rytas at home court. Lokomotiv improved thus at 1-0 record in Group L. Jeremiah Massey scored 17 points to pace the winners. Lokomotiv ensured a brave start to the game. Bozidar Maljkovic team grabbed a 20:16 lead after ten minutes. Lokomotiv took over completely in the second term. The hosts boosted the gap clearing off before the big break. The Russian team arrived at the interval up by 14 points 40:26. However Lietuvos Rytas were not about to give up easily. The Lithuanian powerhouse turned things upside down in the third period. They limited the home team at 13 points in the frame to narrow the gap 5 points. Lokomotiv struggled to get back on track in the fourth quarter. The hosts scored just 9 points in the stanza allowing Lietuvos Rytas to force overtime. But Lokomotiv proved the character in the extra period. They exploded with 19 points and sealed the winning outcome at the end. Roderick Blakney and K.C. Rivers accounted for 13 points each for the winners. Ali Traore had 15 points and 9 rebounds for Lokomotiv. Steponas Babrauskas answered with 17 points for Lietuvos Rytas. Renaldas Seibutis provided 15 points in defeat.
