Top 16 Round 5: ALBA - Benetton TV 83-74

ALBA claimed the first win at EuroCup Last 16 stage. They knocked down Benetton Treviso to climb at 1-4 record in Group L. DaShaun Wood posted 22 points and 9 assists to lead the winners. Benetton fell at 3-2 record and share the top spot in the Group with Lokomotiv and Lietuvos Rytas. ALBA stormed into the game. They fired 26 points to establish a 10-point lead at the first break. Benetton came back to life in the second frame. The Treviso outfit narrowed the gap to 7 points at the interval 34:41. Benetton took over in the third quarter. The Italian team held ALBA to only 6 points in the third frame to establish a 56:47 lead with one quart remaining. But it was not enough for Benetton. ALBA smashed the visitors in the fourth period. The hosts unleashed 36 points in the final term and rallied to a comfortable win. Kyle Weaver provided 13 points, while Torin Francis and Bryce Taylor contributed 12 points each in the victory. Sani Becirovic answered with 17 points for Benetton. Jeffrey Viggiano and Marcus Goree had 13 points apiece in the loss.
