Khimky finished EuroCup Last 16 round on a winning note. They defeated Asvel in France tonight to claim the second position in Group J. Thomas Kelati knocked down 17 points to lead the winners. Khimky left the hosts behind in the starting quarter. The Russian team accumulated a 23:14 lead at the first break. The gap grew in the second quarter. Khimky enjoyed a 44:27 halftime advantage. The visitors stayed aggressive in the third term. They boosted the gap to as many as 19 points 67:48. But Asvel unleashed 31 points in the fourth period to sweeten the pill at the end. Kresimir Loncar had 14 points, while Alexey Zhukanenko added 11 points for the winners. Dijon Thompson and Kim Tillie provided 22 points each in the loss.
