Quarter-Finals Round 2: Lokomotiv - Khimky 81-77

Lokomotiv Kuban recorded a four-point win over visiting Khimky but it proved not enough to advance into EuroCup Final Four. Khimky capitalized on a 9-point advantage from a home game to reach the next round of the tournament. Ali Traore nailed 22 points and grabbed 6 rebounds to pace the winners tonight. Lokomotiv quickly surged ahead at the start of the game but Khimky stayed calm and soon erased the deficit. The visitors eventually posted a 24:22 lead ten minutes into the encounter. Khimky took over in the second term. The visitors pulled ahead and opened a 46:33 halftime lead. Lokomotiv entered the second half with their backs against the wall. The hosts turned aggressive offensively scoring 26 points and narrowing the deficit to just three points with one term remaining. Lokomotiv finally surged ahead in the fourth frame. But Khimky protected the cushion well as Lokomotiv never got the needed advantage. Jeremiah Massey finished with 19 points, while Vlado Ilievski contributed 11 points for Lokomotiv. Vitaly Fridzon responded with 17 points and 7 rebounds for Khimky. Thomas Kelati accounted for 16 points in the loss.
