Finals Game 1: Spartak SP - Lietuvos rytas 61-72

Lietuvos Rytas clinched the third position in EuroCup tournament. They overcame Spartak Saint Petersburg in the consolation final in Khimky tonight. Renaldas Seibutis scored 21 points to lead the winners. Lietuvos Rytas took care of sloppy Spartak attitude in the first frame. The Lithuanian team stormed into the game taking a 24:10 lead after ten minutes. Spartak woke up in the second quarter. They stiffened their defence and started their comeback. The Russian team cut the deficit to 10 points at halftime 30:40. Lietuvos Rytas stayed alert in the third term keeping Spartak at distance. The Vilnius team secured a comfortable 11-point lead at the final intermission 55:44. Spartak got as close as four points 51:55 in the final frame but Renaldas Seibutis stepped up for the Lithuanian side and Lietuvos Rytas escaped with a tough win at the end. Aleksandar Rasic accounted for 12 points, while Mindaugas Katelynas and Jonas Valanciunas posted 10 points each for the winners. Patrick Beverley answered with 18 points for Spartak SP. Vladimir Dragicevic had 17 points in the loss.
