Qualifying Round Day 1: ESTONIA - SWITZERLAND 58-62

Great win for Switzerland at the start of 2013 EuroBasket Qualifications. They handed 58-62 home loss to Estonia improving to 1-0 record in Group B. Montenegro, Serbia and Poland also participate in this pool and all of them fight for the first two places, which lead to EuroBasket in France. Switzerland shined in the last quarter of the game to secure this very valuable victory. Estonia was 54-50 up with 8 minutes to go, but then visitors created 4-12 run for rest of the way. Karen Twehues top-scored in victory with 18 points and Sarah Kershaw followed her with 16. Alexia Rol netted 9 pts in this meeting. For the hosts, Merike Anderson was better than the others with 23 points. Kerttu Jallai (8 rebs) and Viive-Kai Rebane stopped to 11 and 10 pts respectively. Quarters: 19-18, 17-15, 12-11, 10-18. Switzerland will host Montenegro on Saturday, while Estonia goes to Poland.
