Qualifying Round Day 1: ROMANIA - SWEDEN 66-59

Romania started the 2013 EuroBasket Qualifications with victory. They outplayed Sweden 66-59 on Wednesday improving to 1-0 score in Group D. Spain, Germany and Bulgaria also participate in this pool and they all fight for the first two places. First two teams will book a spot for the EuroBasket in France. Romania shined in the second half to win this game. They drained 33 points in 20 minutes, at the same time limiting Sweden to 22 pts. Annmarie Parau, Gabriela Marginean and Anca Sipos, stepped up for their team in the finish. Marginean had 26 points and 6 rebounds in this game. Parau scored 14 points and Anita Meszaros netted five less. Visitors got 22 points from Frida Eldebrink. Louice Halvarsson followed with double-double of 10 points and 11 rebs, while Elin Eldebrink stopped to 7 pts and 7 rebs. Quarters: 20-20, 13-17, 16-10, 17-12. Romania will play in Germany on Saturday, while Sweden waits Spain.
