Qualifying Round Day 4: ROMANIA - SPAIN 51-68

Spain posted the third win at the 2013 EuroBasket Qualifying Round. They defeated Romania in Bucharest in Group D action tonight. Spain improved at 3-1 record, while Romania slipped at 1-2 after the game. Anna Cruz scored 15 points to lead the visitors. Spain opened the game on a 9:2 run. They maintained the lead throughout the opening quarter posting a 25:18 advantage after ten minutes. Spain stayed in front throughout the second quarter. They ensured a 37:32 halftime lead. Romania used a 9:0 run midway through the third quarter to pull ahead 41:39. They established a 45:41 advantage into the fourth frame. But Amaya Valdemoro, Anna Cruz and Anna Montanana sparked a 16:0 run from the visitors that put them beyond reach. Spain breezed to the victory after that. Anna Montanana accounted for 14 points, while Amaya Valdemoro posted 10 points in the winning effort. Ancuta Stoenescu responded with 16 points for Romania. Gabriela Marginean had 14 points in the loss.
