Qualifying Round Day 5: PORTUGAL - ISRAEL 60-62

Israel grabbed 60-62 thriller win against Portugal last night. It was fifth round of the EuroBasket qualifications and Israel improved to 2-2 record in Group A. At the other side, Portugal dropped to 0-4. Shay Doron was a key player in victory. She had 21 points, 8 assists and 6 rebounds (valuation 24). Doron's free throws brought victory to Israel at the end. Portugal had the last possession in the game after a timeout, they got the ball to Carla Nascimento but she was off target with her attempt. Liron Cohen scored 12 points in Israel and Katia Levitsky collected 8 pts, plus 8 boards. For the hosts, Carla Freitas shined with 19 points and 7 boards (5 triples). Sara Filipe had 11 points and 6 rebs, while Sogia Silva added 8 pts and 10 rebs. Quarters: 14-19, 13-11, 14-20, 19-12. Israel will be free in Round Six. Portugal will host Ukraine on Saturday.
