Qualifying Round Day 5: SWITZERLAND - POLAND 45-62

Date: June 27, 2012
Poland did a great job in Fribourg last night. Visitors celebrated 45-62 victory improving to 3-1 record in Group B of the 2013 EuroBasket qualifications. That is currently enough for the second place in this pool, while Switzerland stays No.4 with 1-3 record. Poland exploded in the last ten minutes to take the victory in this game. Visitors limited Switzerland to just 5 points in Q4, while they drained 20 at the other side. Quarters: 15-13, 12-17, 13-12, 5-20. Agnieszka Skobel was the leading scorer in victory with 18 points, while Joanna Walich added 13 points and 8 rebounds. Weronika Idczak followed them with 12 points, 5 boards and 5 assists. Karen Twehues delivered 13 points for the home squad. Marielle Giroud (9 rebs) and Sarah Kershaw netted 9 and 7 pts respectively. Poland will take a rest next weekend, while Switzerland will host Estonia in Round Six game.
