Qualifying Round Day 6: SWITZERLAND - ESTONIA 68-63

Switzerland registered its second win in 2013 EuroBasket Qualifications. They outplayed Estonia last night 68-63 improving to 2-3 record in Group B. Estonia dropped to poor 0-5. There are four more rounds to be played in qualifications. Switzerland moved 15 points clear, 56-41, on Giroud's jump-host midway through the third quarter, but Estonia had one more rally in them and when Anderson hit a jump-shot 1:33 from the buzzer the lead was down to just two, 63-61. Giroud and Karen Twehues then responded to hold off the Estonians and seal the win. Quarters: 29-18, 12-16, 15-18, 12-11. Karen Twehues drained 25 points in victory and Marielle Giroud added 23 points, plus 10 rebounds. Sarah Kershaw contributed with 12 pts to this victory. Triin Teppo answered with 18 points and 10 rebounds in defeat, while Merike Anderson and Kertuu Jallai scored 16 and 10 pts. Switzerland will play in Montenegro on Wednesday. Estonia waits Poland.
