Qualifying Round Day 7: ESTONIA - POLAND 58-65

Date: July 4, 2012
Poland improved its score to 4-1 in 2013 EuroBasket Qualifications. They celebrated in Tallinn 58-65 jumping to 4-1 record in Group B. That record is currently enough for the second place, but it is important to mention that top-ranked Montenegro played one game more than Poland and it has 5-1. Estonia stays the only winless team in this pool (0-6). Estonia was 3-points up at the halftime and kept plus 2 with one quarter to go, thanks to triple by Agnieszka Makowska. It was 48-49 with 5:40 remaining, after what Poland made mini 0-5 run, but still Estonia came to 54-56 soon after that. Visitors answered with crucial 1-7 series and managed to keep the lead for rest of the way. Izabela Piekarska scored 16 points for the winners and Joanna Walich added 12 pts, plus 6 rebs. Agnieszka Skobel netted 10 points. At the other side, Merike Anderson collected 15 points and 7 boards. Valeria Kast had 14 pts and 5 rebs, while Mirjam Nikolai registered 8 pts and 6 boards. Poland will host Montenegro on Saturday, while Estonia is free in Round Seven.
