Qualifying Round Day 9: SERBIA - POLAND 67-62

Serbia handed 67-62 loss to Poland in Round Nine of the 2013 EuroBasket Qualifications. Most likely it was the crucial game for the second place in Group B. Thanks to this victory Serbia joined Poland with 5-2 record and also Serbia holds a tiebreaker as Poland won in Round 4 with only 2 pts. If Serbia beats last ranked Estonia on Saturday they will advance to EuroBasket. Estonia will be the host. Poland can only hope that Estonia can surprise Serbia and also Poland has to beat Switzerland at home. Ana Dabovic scored 20 points for Serbia tonight and Tamara Radocaj added 13 pts. Jelena Maksimovic followed them with 8 points and 9 rebounds. Poland got 13 points from Agnieszka Skobel and Agnieszka Szott. Martyna Koc stopped to 11 pts. Skobel made a triple for Poland with 8 seconds remaining cutting the margin to 63-62. However, Dabovic was sent to the line after that and she made both free throws. Poland had six seconds for the last possession, but Marina Mandic made a steal and Jovanovic made it at the buzzer for the final 67-62 victory. Quarters: 19-12, 16-20, 10-14, 22-16. Saturday is the last day of qualification.
