Second Stage Day 6: POLAND - ROMANIA 82-62

Poland finally registered its first win in Group G of U18 EuroBasket in Bucharest. They handed 82-62 loss to the home squad for 1-2 record in this pool. After this win Poland is theoretically still 'in' for the survival in Division A, but it will be very hard to do as Czech Republic already jumped to 3-0 and only the winner of this pool will avoid relegation. Romania dropped to 0-3 and they will definitely play in Division B next summer. Poland shined in first and third period to take the victory in this game (22-8, 22-28, 24-13, 14-13). Kinga Wozniak scored 14 points in Poland, while Dominika Owczarzak and Angelika Stankiewicz posted 12 points each. The hosts got 14 points and 6 rebounds from Iulia Raileanu. Kinga Domokos and Dora Ardelean (6 rebs) posted 12 and 10 rebounds respectively. Thursday is a day-off in Bucharest. On Friday, Poland will play against Belgium and Romania will meet Czech Republic.
