Qualifying Round Day 1: POLAND - BELGIUM 57-64

Belgium upset Poland in Sopot to open their EuroBasket qualifying campaign with a victory. The Belgian side grabbed 64:57 win over the hosts at the end of Day 1. Poland looked better in the start of the game and reached 21:17 at the end of the quarter. Ignerski later scored for 29:24, but Belgium replied with a 9-0 run for 33:29. Ponitka meanwhile managed to tie the game at 33:33. Belgium looked better in the third period and scored final nine points of the period, with Maxime De Zeeuw's three-pointer making it 49:40 on the buzzer. Poland reduced to 2 points at the end of the fourth period, but could not come closer. Tabu-Eboma and Maxime De Zeeuw brought the final points in a win. Sam Van Rossom top-scored for the winners with 13 points, while Maxime De Zeeuw and Mukubu Wen Boss posted 11 each. Beghin Christophe ended up with 10 points for the winners. Gortat Marcin netted 23 in defeat, whilst Koszarek Lukasz delivered 12.
