Qualifying Round Day 2: GEORGIA - ROMANIA 80-64

Georgia played their first game at the 2013 EuroBasket Qualifying Round. They hosts Romania in Tbilisi. The hosts celebrated a comfortable victory to improve at 1-0 record in Group D. Romania fell at 1-1 record after the loss. Jacob Pullen led the hosts with 19 points. Georgia and Romania stayed close throughout the opening quarter. The hosts managed to clear off to a 6-point lead at the first break 24:18. Romania cut the deficit at 2-point mark midway through the second term. But Georgia were able to take a 5-point halftime lead 44:39. Georgia capped the third term with eight points in a row to finally get away at 11-point distance 60:49. Manuchar Markoishvili and Shengelia dropped back-to-back three-pointers as Georgia secured a 66:50 lead early in the fourth quarter. Georgia maintained the advantage and rolled to the victory at the end. Manuchar Markoishvili accounted for 14 points, while Giorgi Shermadini added 13 points for the winners. Catalin Baciu answered with 19 points and 10 rebounds for Romania. Vlad Moldoveanu had 17 points and 11 rebounds in the loss.
