Lattes Montpellier secured the winning start to their EuroCup campaign. The French team upset Satu Mare in Romania tonight. Fatimatou Sacko came up with impressive 30 points and 10 rebounds to pace the visitors. Ana Lelas and Fatimatou Sacko combined for 13 points in the opening quarter as Lattes Montpellier surged ahead. The visitors accumulated a 26:13 lead after the opening quarter. Satu Mare cut the deficit to just a single point 30:31 with three minutes to go in the first half. But Ana Lelas and Fatimatou Sacko ensured a 41:32 halftime lead for Montpellier. The teams went neck and neck throughout the third term. Satu Mare tied the score on several occasions but Fatimatou Sacko capped the period with a jumper as Montpellier grabbed a 57:55 lead. Lattes Montpellier quickly cleared off at the start of the final frame and hung on to win the game. Ana Lelas finished with 20 points, while Geraldine Robert added 13 points for the French team. Khadijah Whittington responded with 14 points for the hosts. Dara Kovacevic and Annemarie Parau netted 12 points each in the loss.
