Regular Season Round 1: Olimpia - Young Cats 74-75 OT

Young Cats secured a dramatic overtime victory over Olimpia at the start of the EuroCup campaign in Grodno tonight. Jasmina Rosseel scored 21 points to lead the visitors. Young Cats held the Belarusian team to 14 points in the opening quarter. The visitors posted a 5-point lead at the first break. Olimpia cut the deficit in the second quarter. The hosts got within 4 points at the interval. Olimpia almost erased the deficit in the third term. They got as close as one point at the third break. Olimpia finally pulled ahead late in the regulation. Filonchyk gave the hosts a 66:63 lead with 26 seconds remaining. However Lien Lentacker got fouled while attempting a three-pointer and sank all three attempts in cold blood to send the game into overtime. Drozd put Olimpia within reach of the victory in the extra period but Lien Lentacker stepped up for Young Cats once again as her three-pointer sealed the deal. Antonia Delaere netted 17 points, while Sofie Hendrickx added 11 points for the visitors. Lyubov Alyoshkina answered with 23 points and 12 rebounds for Olimpia. Maryia Papova had 20 points and 11 rebounds in the loss.
