Mersin claimed the first win in EuroCup Group C. They toppled Beflius Namur in Belgium. Bahar Ozturk dropped 25 points to lead the visitors. The hosts suffered the second straight loss at the tournament. Belfius Namur secured a confident start to the game. They pulled ahead for a 20:16 lead ten minutes into action. But Mersin turned things around in the second frame. The Turkish team went on a 22:13 run to gain a 38:33 halftime advantage. Namur narrowed the gap in the third term. The Belgian team got within two points at the final break 46:48. The hosts surged ahead for a 66:60 lead with under two minutes to go. However Shavonte Zellous sparked a 10:0 run from Mersin as they sealed the victory. Shavonte Zellous provided 19 points, while Chantelle Handy added 16 points for the visitors. Djenebou Sissoko answered with 13 points and 14 boards for Belfius Namur. Julie Wojta netted 12 points and grabbed 10 rebounds in the loss.
