Le Mans opened EuroCup win count. The French team overcame VEF Riga in the Latvian capital tonight. Both teams are now tied at 1-1 record in Group C. Joao Paulo Batista paced Le Mans with 22 points. The teams stayed neck and neck throughout the first half. The scoreboard read 22:22 after ten minutes. The situation hardly changed in the second quarter. The teams exchanged baskets arriving at halftime tied at 42. Le Mans put their noses in front in the third term. The visitors knocked down 24 points in the third quarter to gain a 4-point lead at the final intermission. Le Mans exploded with 23 points in the final frame and hung on to clinch the victory. Pape Sy and Khalid El-Amin provided 13 points each for the winners. Kaspars Berzins answered with 23 points and 8 rebounds for VEF Riga. Kristaps Janicenoks chipped in 14 points in the loss.
