Mersin accounted for the third victory in EuroCup season. They knocked down Tarbes in France to catch up with their opponents at 3-1 record in Group C standings. Shavonte Zellous stepped up with 21 points, 6 boards and 4 assists to lead the winners. Mersin eked out a 21:19 lead ten minutes into the game. Mersin stayed in charge throughout the second quarter. They built a 43:36 halftime advantage. Tarbes slowed the visitors down in the third term. The French team narrowed the gap at 6-point mark at the final intermission. Tarbes and Mersin exchanged baskets throughout the final frame. The hosts were able to get within two points midway through the quarter but Mersin quickly answered with nine points in a row and rallied to the victory. Erlana Larkins notched 18 points and 17 rebounds, while Chantelle Handy added 15 points for the winning side. Gabriela Ocete answered with 16 points for Tarbes. Joyce Cousseins-Smith netted 15 points in the losing case.
