Orleans exploded with a convincing victory in Italy tonight. The French team fired past Sassari on the road in EuroCup Group H. The victory however did not allow Orleans to advance into Last 16. Cajasol claimed a road win in another Group H game and clinched the second position in the pool. Sassari needed victory in this one. They started aggressively but Orleans easily matched the effort. The visitors fired 26 points and eked out a single point lead after the starting quarter. Orleans limited the hosts to 9 points in the second frame and grabbed a 42:34 halftime lead. The visitors poured in 27 points in the third stanza to clear off to a 14-point lead at the final intermission. Orleans finished off Sassari with a 26:16 run in the final quarter. Brian Greene delivered 23 points to lead the visitors. Caleb Green added 15 points, while Jahmar Young chipped in 14 points in the win. Drake Diener responded with game-high 27 points for Sassari. Travis Diener had 21 points in defeat.
