Bilbao Basket knocked down Valencia for the first win in EuroCup Last 16. Nikolaos Zisis, Milovan Rakovic, Alex Mumbru and Raul Lopez scored 14 points each to pace well-balanced effort from the Basque team. Bilbao were coming off back-to-back EuroCup losses and desperately needed victory to stay in the title race. They started the game aggressively. Bilbao recorded a 23:16 lead after ten minutes of action. Valencia though responded with a high-flying second quarter. The visitors exploded with 28 points in the next ten minutes to secure a 44:41 halftime lead. Bilbao tipped off the second half with 9 points in a row to take a 50:44 lead. They completed a 13:2 run at the start of the quarter to make it 54:46. Bilbao raced to a 66:56 advantage before the fourth term. Valencia were able to narrow the gap at 6-point mark midway through the fourth term. But Bilbao quickly stretched the margin back to double digits and never looked back en route to the win. Vasiliadis notched 9 points for the winners. Thomas Kelati answered with 20 points for Valencia. Bojan Dubljevic chipped in 13 points in the loss.
