Quarter-Finals Round 1: Valencia - Unics 80-70

Valencia heading to Kazan having built a 10-point buffer after the opening round of EuroCup Quarterfinal series. Bojan Dubljevic came up with 19 points to lead the hosts to the victory. The teams stayed close throughout the opening frame. Valencia eked out a 21:20 lead ten minutes into the encounter. The hosts stepped on the gas in the second frame. Valencia dropped 24 points and cleared off to a 45:35 distance at halftime. The margin grew at 13-point mark midway through the third quarter. However Unics went on a 10:0 run to narrow the deficit. Valencia entered the fourth quarter up by six points 64:58. Pau Ribas, Bojan Dubljevic and Justin Doellman helped Valencia restore a 12-point lead with under four minutes remaining. Terrell Lyday dragged the visitors within 8 points 70:78 with just over a minute remaining. However Justin Doellman dunked for the final result of the game 80:70. Justin Doellman accounted for 18 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists, while Stefan Markovic added 10 points for the winners. Terrell Lyday answered with 28 points for Unics. Mire Chatman chipped in 13 points and pulled down 8 rebounds in the loss.
