Belgacom Spirou upset EWE Baskets in Oldenburg today and did not allow the hosts to clinch EuroCup Last 32 spot just yet. Demond Mallet scored 17 points to pace the Belgian team just to the second win at the tournament. EWE Baskets and Belgacom Spirou stayed neck and neck throughout the first term. They were tied at 21 after ten minutes. Spirou surged ahead in the second term. The visitors posted a 43:30 halftime advantage. EWE Baskets notched 23 points in the third period and cut the distance at 9-point mark 53:62. Oldenburg tried hard to erase the deficit in the fourth frame but could not avoid the defeat at the end. Darryl Watkins netted 15 points, while Joe Trapani added 14 points for Spirou. Andrea Crosariol responded with 15 points for EWE Baskets. Dru Joyce had 14 points in the defeat.
