Sergii Gladyr returned from the injury just in time to lead Nanterre to the opening win in EuroCup Last 32. The French champions survived a double-overtime marathon to tame visiting Cantu in Group I opener. Sergii Gladyr delivered 30 points in the victory. Nanterre grabbed an early lead. The hosts secured a 19:15 lead after ten minutes. Cantu erased the deficit in the second term. They stressed their defence limiting Nanterre to just 10 points and grabbing a 31:29 halftime advantage. But the French team improved offensively in the third term. They poured in 24 points and gained a 53:46 lead before the fourth frame. Cantu recovered once again. Joe Ragland and Pietro Aradori went deadly from the stripe in the dying seconds to tie things up at 63 forcing overtime. Adrian Uter gave the Italian team a 69:65 lead in the first extra period. However Sergii Gladyr and Deshaun Thomas erased the deficit and leveled things up at 71 leading to the second overtime. Sergii Gladyr nailed five points in the next extra period and Nanterre finally ran away with the victory. David Lighty produced 12 points, while Mouhammadou Jaiteh and DeShaun Thomas had 10 points each in the win. Adrian Uter responded with 25 points for Cantu. Joe Ragland had 23 points in the loss.
