Nantes Reze and Istanbul Universitesi finished the first leg of their EuroCup quarterfinal battle in a draw. Nantes wasted a big lead in the fourth quarter and had to be satisfied with a tie game after forty minutes of action. Cayla Francis scored 18 points to pace all scorers. Nantes eked out a 17:14 lead after ten minutes of action. The French team maintained the lead throughout the second frame. They registered a 37:33 halftime advantage. Nantes Reze boosted the margin in the third term. The hosts poured in 24 points to accumulate a 13-point buffer heading into the fourth frame. But Istanbul Universitesi picked up the tempo in the final stanza. They narrowed the gap and then Shenise Johnson capped the regulation with three free throws to level things up at 74. Sarah Michel chipped in 13 points, while Marielle Amant added 12 points for the hosts. Liron Cohen responded with 17 points for Istanbul Universitesi. Melissa Can and Shenise Johnson delivered 14 points each for the visitors.
