Valencia got to the victorious start of the EuroCup semifinal series. They held off visiting Nizhny Novgorod in Spain today. Bojan Dubljevic recorded 24 points and 12 rebounds to pace the hosts. Nizhny Novgorod secured a brisk start to the game. The visitors poured in 23 points in the opening quarter and gained a 3-point lead. Valencia however gained control in the second term. The Spanish team accumulated a 41:32 halftime lead. Valencia maintained the lead throughout the third term. They piled up a 14-point cushion heading into the fourth period. Nizhny Novgorod unleashed 26 points in the final ten minutes but just cut the deficit at the end. Pau Ribas chipped in 17 points, while Justin Doellman produced 16 points for the hosts. Dijon Thompson responded with 25 points for Nizhny Novgorod. Pavel Korobkov had 14 points in the defeat.
