Crvena Zvezda claimed the opening win in the EuroCup semifinal series versus Unics. The Serbian powerhouse held off Unics in Belgrade tonight. Jaka Blazic stepped up with 15 points to pace the winners. Unics held their opponents to just 15 points in the first frame. The Kazan team eked out an 18:15 lead after ten minutes. Crvena Zvezda however quickly denied the deficit. They pulled ahead for a 35:32 halftime lead. The teams stayed close throughout the third term. Crvena Zvezda entered the fourth frame up by three points 50:47. The hosts limited Unics to only 4 points in the fourth frame and secured a well-deserved win at the end. Rasko Katic produced 14 points, while Charles Jenkins added 10 points for the hosts. Andrew Goudelock responded with 18 points for Unics. Vladimir Veremeenko and Chuck Eidson had 7 points each in the defeat.
