Regular Season Round 2: Galatasaray - Valencia 71-64

Galatasaray used a home court advantage and beat the opponent from Valencia 71-64 on Thursday night. Valencia Basket trailed by 12 points after 3 quarters before a 14-9 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 64-71 at the end of the game. Galatasaray dominated down low during the game scoring 48 of its points in the paint compared to Valencia Basket's 28. Furkan Aldemir (207-91, agency: Beo Basket) had a double-double by scoring 10 points and 12 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and Puerto Rican point guard Carlos Arroyo (188-79, college: FIU, agency: Interperformances) chipped in 16 points and 5 assists during the contest. Four Galatasaray players scored in double figures. American forward Luke Harangody (201-88, college: Notre Dame) responded with 16 points and 7 rebounds and Belgian point guard Sam Van Rossom (188-86) scored 11 points and 7 assists. Valencia Basket's coach let to play ten players, but that didn't help to avoid defeat in this game. Galatasaray will face Laboral Kutxa in Vitoria in the next round and it may be the game of the week. Valencia Basket will play on the road against Crvena Zvezda in Beograd and hope to win that game.
