Very important is a road loss of third ranked Turkish Galatasaray (3-4) against sixth ranked Spanish Valencia Basket (2-5) on Friday night. Visiting Galatasaray was defeated by Valencia Basket in a tough game in Valencia 71-78. Galatasaray trailed by 11 points after 3 quarters before a 25-21 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 71-78 at the end of the game. It was a very good performance for American forward Luke Harangody (201-88, college: Notre Dame) who helped to win the game recording 13 points and 8 rebounds. Point guard Pau Ribas (196-87) contributed with 9 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Valencia Basket players scored in double figures. Valencia Basket's coach used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. Italian Pietro Aradori (194-88) answered with 20 points, 8 rebounds and 6 assists and Serbian Zoran Erceg (210-85) added 19 points and 6 rebounds in the effort for Galatasaray. Valencia Basket maintains sixth place in Group D with 2-5 record. Loser Galatasaray keeps the third position with four games lost. Valencia Basket will face league's second-placed Crvena Zvezda in Beograd in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Galatasaray will play at home against Laboral Kutxa and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
