Sparta&K wasted a big early lead but held on to snatch a tough win over Istanbul Universitesi in Turkey. Istanbul Universitesi cut a 18-point halftime deficit to two at the end of the game. Belgian center Emma Meesseman (192-93, agency: LBM Management) nailed a double-double by scoring 10 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists for the winning side and Kazakhstan-Russian power forward Ksenia Tikhonenko (193-93, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) accounted for 16 points (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). American center Courtney Paris (191-87, college: Oklahoma) came up with a double-double by scoring 15 points and 18 rebounds and the other American import guard Shenise Johnson (181-90, college: Miami, FL) added 12 points and 6 rebounds respectively for Istanbul Universitesi in the defeat. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures.
