Istanbul Universitesi shocked Sparta&K in Vidnoe and reached the quarterfinal stage of the tournament. The guests trailed by 9 points after first quarter, but they rallied back winning two of next three quarters and won the game by 6 points. Istanbul Universitesi made 21-of-21 free shots (100 percent !!!) during the game. American center Courtney Paris (191-87, college: Oklahoma) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 21 points, 19 rebounds and 4 blocks. The other American import guard Shenise Johnson (181-90, college: Miami, FL) contributed with 19 points and 4 steals for the winners. Maria Cherepanova (190-87) replied with 10 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and American center Stefanie Dolson (196-92, college: Connecticut) added 13 points in the effort for Spartak Vidnoye. Spartak Vidnoye's coach rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help.
