Very significant was Russian Dynamo Kursk's (#2, 8-2) victory against 4th ranked French Lattes Montpellier (4-6) 69-61. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Lattes Montpellier won third quarter 15-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. The best player for the winners was Nigerian-American power forward Nnemkadi Ogwumike (189-90, college: Stanford) who had a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds. Center Irina Osipova (196-81) chipped in a double-double by scoring 12 points and 10 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was Dutch power forward Naomi Halman (191-86, college: Cal-Irvine) who recorded 22 points and 6 rebounds and forward Valerianne Ayayi (185-94, agency: Comsport) added 16 points and 9 rebounds respectively. Dynamo Kursk maintains second position in Group A with 8-2 record behind leader UMMC. Defending French champion Lattes Montpellier keeps the fourth place with six games lost. They share the position with Wisla Krakow. Dynamo Kursk will meet USK Praha (#3) on the road in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Lattes Montpellier will play against Wisla Krakow and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
