Not a big story in a game when 7th ranked Italian Armani Milano (1-5) was edged at home by fourth ranked Turkish Anadolu Efes (4-2) 73-71 on Friday. Armani Milano was tied after three quarters but could not keep up in the last quarter eventually losing the game. Armani Milano was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for Greek Stratos Perperoglou (203-84) who led his team to a victory with 18 points and 5 rebounds. Serbian-Montenegrin power forward Milko Bjelica (205-84, agency: Beo Basket) contributed with 15 points for the winners. American-Italian guard Daniel Hackett (199-87, college: USC, agency: Two Points) replied with 18 points and 7 rebounds and American swingman MarShon Brooks (196-89, college: Providence) added 18 points in the effort for Armani Milano. Four Armani Milano players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game. Anadolu Efes moved-up to third place in Group F, which they share with Fener.Ulker. Armani Milano lost third consecutive game. Defending Italian champion dropped to the bottom position with five games lost. Anadolu Efes will face Fenerbahce Ulker (#4) in Istanbul in the next round. Armani Milano will play on the road against the group's second-placed CSKA (#2) in Moscow and hope to win that game.
