Castorns Braine claimed a necessary 6-point victory over Mersin at home court. The Belgian team faced a 5-point deficit after the opening leg byut some late heroics helped them clinched the victory on aggregate in the quarterfinal series. Mersin trailed by 20 points after 3 quarters before a 20-6 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 76-82 at the end of the game. American Sidney Spencer (191-85, college: Tennessee, agency: LBM Management) notched a double-double by scoring 16 points and 12 rebounds to lead the effort and Kim Mestdagh (179-90, college: Colorado St., agency: LBM Management) supported her with 19 points, 5 assists and 4 steals. Four Castors Braine players scored in double figures. Even 21 points and 5 assists by Bulgarian-American point guard Doneeka Hodges-Lewis (175-82, college: LSU, agency: LBM Management) did not help to save the game for Mersin. Ukrainian Olesia Malashenko (191-91, agency: LBM Management) added 22 points and 6 rebounds for the guests.
