1/8 Finals Round 1: Brose Bask. - Lokomotiv 78-80

Lokomotiv snatched a narrow win over Brose Baskets in Bamberg in the opener. The guests started the game with a very strong first quarter 27-15. But Brose Baskets won second period 22-20. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Lokomotiv made 21-of-27 charity shots (77.8 percent) during the game. 28 personal fouls committed by Brose Baskets helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of Croatian swingman Krunoslav Simon (197-85) who helped to win the game recording 20 points, 5 rebounds and 4 assists. American power forward Anthony Randolph (211-89, college: LSU) contributed with 15 points for the winners. American-Nigerian power forward Trevor Mbakwe (207-89, college: Minnesota) answered with 9 points and 12 rebounds and American guard Brad Wanamaker (193-89, college: Pittsburgh) added 14 points and 6 assists in the effort for Brose Baskets. Four Brose Baskets players scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players in such tough game.
