Very important is a road loss of second ranked Russian Dynamo Kursk (3-2) against seventh ranked French Villeneuve D'Ascq (2-3) on Wednesday night. Visiting Dynamo Kursk was defeated by Villeneuve D'Ascq in a tough game in Villeneuve 70-78. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Dynamo Kursk. Dynamo Kursk was trailing by 5 points at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 22-13 charge of Villeneuve D'Ascq, which allowed them to win the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Forward Fatimatou Sacko (177-85, agency: Comsport) stepped up and scored 14 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and guard Virginie Bremont (177-87, agency: Comsport) chipped in 7 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. American Seimone Augustus (183-84, college: LSU) responded with 25 points and 7 assists and Nigerian-American power forward Nnemkadi Ogwumike (189-90, college: Stanford) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Villeneuve D'Ascq moved-up to fifth place in Group A, which they share with Good Angels. Dynamo Kursk at the other side dropped to the third position with two games lost. They share it with Galatasaray. Villeneuve D'Ascq will meet Good Angels (#5) in the next round. Dynamo Kursk will play against MKB Euroleasing and hope to secure a win.
