Regular Season Round 7: CSKA - Banco di Srd 93-87
Date: November 27, 2015
There was no surprise when bottom-ranked Italian Banco di Srd (0-7) lost to second ranked Russian CSKA (6-1) in Moscow 87-93 on Friday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. The hosts trailed by 1 point after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 5-point lead at the halftime and eventually won the game 93-87. CSKA made 28-of-34 free shots (82.4 percent) during the game, while Banco di Srd only scored four points from the stripe. Banco di Srd was plagued by 26 personal fouls down the stretch. Quite impressive performance for Serbian point guard Milos Teodosic (195-87) who helped to win the game recording 21 points. French Nando De Colo (196-87) contributed with 17 points (made all of his twelve free throws !!!) for the winners. DR Congolese Christian Eyenga (201-89) answered with 19 points and 7 rebounds and American-Polish guard David Logan (185-82, college: Indianapolis) added 21 points in the effort for Banco di Srd. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Defending Russian champion keeps a position of Group D leader, which they share with Unicaja. Banco di Srd lost their seventh game in a row. Defending Italian champion still closes the standings with seven games lost. CSKA will face Brose Baskets (#3) in Bamberg in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Banco di Srd will play at home against Maccabi T-A and hopes to get finally their first victory.
