Rather predictable result when sixth ranked French Bourges (3-4) defeated on the road bottom-ranked Spanish Argon Uni Girona (1-6) 56-47 on Wednesday. The guests took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Argon Uni Girona won third quarter 15-14. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. It was a great evening for swingman Celine Dumerc (169-82, agency: Comsport) who led her team to a victory scoring 21 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists. American-Serbian forward Danielle Page (188-86, college: Nebraska) helped adding 8 points and 8 rebounds. Bourges' coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side point guard Noemi Jordana (173-80) responded with 19 points and 6 assists and Mali-French center Naignouma Coulibaly (191-89, agency: Regeneracom Sports) scored 8 points and 6 rebounds. Defending French champion moved-up to fifth place in Group B, which they share with Wisla Krakow. Argon Uni Girona lost their fifth game in a row. Defending Spanish champion stay at the bottom position with six games lost. Bourges will face league's leader UMMC Ekaterinburg on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Argon Uni Girona will play against the league's second-placed Nadezhda Orenburg (#2) and hope to win that game.
