A very close game took place in Krakow between Polish Wisla Krakow and Turkish Abdullah Gul. Fifth ranked Wisla Krakow (3-4) got a very close home victory over 3rd placed Abdullah Gul (4-3). Wisla Krakow managed to escape with a 1-point win 67-66 on Wednesday evening. Abdullah Gul was trailing by 1 point at halftime but managed to get 1-point lead after three quarters before a 14-12 charge of Wisla Krakow, which allowed them to win the game. Spanish point guard Cristina Ouvina (173-90) fired 18 points and 5 rebounds for the winners. American guard Yvonne Turner (176-87, college: Nebraska) chipped in 17 points and 5 assists. American-Turkish LaToya Sanders (191-86, college: N.Carolina) produced 13 points and 7 rebounds and American guard Chelsea Gray (180-92, college: Duke) added 15 points and 5 assists respectively for lost side. The victory was the third consecutive win for Wisla Krakow. Defending Polish champion maintains fifth place in Group B with 3-4 record, which they share with Bourges. Abdullah Gul at the other side keeps the third position with three games lost. They share it with USK Praha. Wisla Krakow will meet Castors Braine (#7) on the road in the next round. Abdullah Gul will play against USK Praha (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
