Regular Season Round 9: Limoges - Olympiacos 67-76

Very expected game when 5th ranked French Limoges CSP Elite (2-7) was defeated at home by first ranked Greek Olympiacos (8-1) 76-67 on Thursday. Limoges CSP Elite trailed by 17 points after 3 quarters before a 19-11 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 67-76 at the end of the game. The best player for the winners was guard Evangelos Mantzaris (196-90) who scored 12 points. Georgios Printezis (204-85, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 13 points. At the other side the best for losing team was power forward Ali Traore (205-85, college: S.Idaho JC, agency: Beo Basket) who recorded 14 points and 6 rebounds and guard Leo Westermann (196-92, agency: Beo Basket) added 14 points and 5 assists respectively. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Olympiacos have an impressive series of seven victories in a row. Despite that victory Olympiacos went down to seventh position (Group B) due to points difference. Limoges CSP Elite lost fourth consecutive game. Defending French champion dropped to the twelfth place with seven games lost. Olympiacos will face Anadolu Efes (#8) in Istanbul in the next round. Limoges CSP Elite will play on the road against Armani Milano (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
