The hosts trailed by 1 point at the halftime before their 50-39 charge in the second half, which allowed them to win the game. EnBW Ludwigsburg made 17-of-22 free shots (77.3 percent) during the game. EnBW Ludwigsburg outrebounded Umana Venezia 39-25 including 18 on the offensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. Americans were the main players on the court. It was a great evening for guard Tekele Cotton (190-93, college: Wichita St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 17 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Jon Brockman (201-87, college: Washington) helped adding 16 points and 8 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). The best for the losing side was power forward Josh Owens (203-88, college: Stanford) with 17 points and 7 rebounds (perfect from the field making all eight shots !!!) and point guard Mike Green (185-85, college: Butler) scored 16 points and 6 assists. Four EnBW Ludwigsburg and five Umana Venezia players scored in double figures. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games.
