The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Maccabi T-A won third quarter 18-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Un.Olimpija dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to Maccabi T-A's 34. Serbian Sava Lesic (205-88, agency: Beo Basket) orchestrated the victory by scoring 16 points and 5 rebounds. Latvian power forward Ronalds Zakis (206-87) contributed with 13 points and 7 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) for the winners. Un.Olimpija's coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Point guard Gal Mekel (190-88, college: Wichita St., agency: Beo Basket) answered with 20 points and 4 assists (on 7-of-8 shooting from the field) and American-Nigerian Ike Ofoegbu (205-84, college: SMU) added 14 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Maccabi T-A.
