The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning first half. But Un.Olimpija won fourth quarter 16-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Unics Kazan looked well-organized offensively handing out 26 assists comparing to just 9 passes made by Un.Olimpija's players. Anton Ponkrashov (200-86, agency: Stanislav Ryzhov) scored 13 points and 8 assists (went 7 for 7 at the free throw line) to lead the charge for the winners and Croatian forward Marko Banic (205-84) chipped in 14 points during the contest. Four Unics Kazan players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American point guard Dawan Robinson (188-82, college: Rhode Island) with 12 points and American-Bosnian guard Zack Wright (191-85, college: Central Mo.) scored 10 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games.
